Regragui: "Hakimi Was Ready for 10 Minutes Against Mali, But We Preferred Not to Risk It"

National coach Walid Regragui discussed Achraf Hakimi's situation, confirming that the right-back is gradually returning to action and is a strong candidate to feature in the third group stage match.

Speaking at the press conference following the 1-1 draw against Mali in the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations, Regragui stated: "In the third match, we have a good chance of seeing Achraf from the start, or coming on as a substitute to give him game rhythm."

He added: "Today, he was prepared to play ten minutes, but due to the flow of the game, the high tempo, and the match result, we preferred not to take any risks. He will certainly be ready for the knockout stages."
