Regragui: 'Ounahi Makes Moroccan National Team Strong When He's at His Best'

Walid Regragui, head coach of the Moroccan national team, affirmed that Azzedine Ounahi is a fundamental pillar of the "Atlas Lions," emphasizing that the team performs at its best when the player is in top form.

During a press conference, Regragui stated: "When Ounahi is at his best, we become a very strong team. In the first match, we expected a lot from him, and he knows that. We are confident that he will grow throughout the competition."

The national coach continued: "He is a player I have placed my trust in. Although everyone recognizes his talent, some supporters have criticized his performance and, at times, his selection. However, when you are a coach and possess a talent like his, you must support him, just as we do with Brahim Díaz and others."

Regragui further added: "Ounahi chose his club with his national team in mind. He is a player who loves his country, and his priority is the Moroccan national team, followed by his club. When he puts on the national jersey, he transforms, unlike some players who excel with their clubs but lose their brilliance with the national team."

The "Atlas Lions" coach concluded his remarks by asserting Ounahi's potential to play for top clubs, stating: "Ounahi is a player who can perform for major teams when he is mentally and physically comfortable," highlighting the significant capabilities of the Moroccan midfielder.
