
Ugandan Sports Minister: "Committed to Providing Resources for AFCON 2027 on Schedule"
Peter Ogwang, Uganda's Minister of Sports, has reaffirmed the commitment of the three host nations to organize the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on its scheduled date.
Speaking in remarks reported by the official account of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) on X, Ogwang stated: "On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Uganda and on my own behalf, I reiterate our commitment to hosting the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations in accordance with the agreement." He further added: "And I assure you that the three governments are committed to providing the necessary resources to ensure this tournament takes place on its scheduled date."
These statements came on the sidelines of a meeting between a delegation from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and representatives from the three host nations of the "PAMOJA 2027" AFCON – Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The meeting aimed to assess the countries' readiness to host the prestigious competition.
