Uganda Announces Two Stadiums Ready, Confirms AFCON 2027 Hosting with Kenya and Tanzania from June 19 to July 18

Dennis Mugimba, Chairman of Uganda's Local Organizing Committee for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), confirmed that the tournament will be held in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania between June 19 and July 18, 2027.

Mugimba also stated that the matches hosted by Uganda will take place at the Mandela National Stadium and the Hoima City Stadium. Additionally, eight training pitches will be prepared for the participating national teams.

Uganda is set to host matches for two groups of AFCON 2027. Mugimba noted that this will necessitate the construction of new hotels and the development of existing ones, aiming for a total of six 4- or 5-star hotels in Hoima City.

Meanwhile, Kenyan Sports Minister Salim Mvurya announced a payment of $30 million to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as hosting fees for the Africa Cup of Nations. He affirmed that Kenya's local organizing committee for AFCON has been formed and infrastructure development work is being accelerated to host the continental event.
