The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to send a high-level delegation to Uganda tomorrow, Tuesday morning, as part of a strategic visit aimed at evaluating the progress of preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

This visit comes at a time when the three host nations continue to face a range of challenges related to organizational readiness, particularly concerning infrastructure, funding, and certain logistical aspects associated with hosting the tournament.

The capital, Kampala, is expected to host meetings spanning two days (April 22 and 23), during which CAF officials and representatives from the organizing nations will assess the progress made across various preparation axes and establish clear plans for the upcoming phase.

These meetings will be attended by representatives from the three governments, presidents of the national football associations, along with CAF Acting General Secretary Samson Adamu, and a number of senior CAF officials from multiple departments including competitions, marketing, broadcasting, safety and security, finance, and others.

Discussions will primarily focus on vital issues such as infrastructure, security and safety, supply and procurement, funding, media, ticketing, and commercial operations, with the objective of elevating the level of readiness before the tournament date.
