Uganda Misses 90th-Minute Penalty, Draws 1-1 with Tanzania
The match between Tanzania and Uganda ended in a 1-1 draw on Saturday at the City Stadium in Rabat, as part of the second round of Group C in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Tanzania opened the scoring from a penalty converted by Simon Msuva in the 59th minute. Oche Ikpezu then brought Uganda back into the game with an equalizer in the 80th minute. However, the 90th minute brought heartbreak for the Ugandans as they missed a penalty that could have secured them the victory.
With this draw, Tanzania now has one point and sits in third place, the same number of points as last-placed Uganda. Fans are now awaiting the match between group leaders Tunisia (3 points) and Nigeria (3 points) later tonight (21:00 GMT+1) at the Grand Stade de Fès.
