Andoni Iraola, Bournemouth's manager, has officially announced his departure from his position at the end of the current season. He has informed the club's board and players of his final decision to conclude his tenure with the English team.

This decision comes three months before his contract was set to expire, after the Spanish coach reportedly rejected several offers from the management to extend his tenure, which had lasted three years with the club.

Iraola will lead the team in his final home match against Manchester City on May 17. He will conclude his managerial journey in the Premier League with an away fixture against Nottingham Forest in the final round of the competition.

Amidst these preparations, the club's management has begun behind-the-scenes efforts to find a suitable replacement. They have reportedly drawn up a shortlist of three preferred candidates to take over the technical leadership in the upcoming period.

Since taking charge in June 2023, the Spanish coach has successfully guided Bournemouth to remarkable results, where the team finished last season in ninth place with 56 points, an unprecedented record in the club's league history. These developments coincide with growing reports about Athletic Bilbao's desire to re-acquire the services of their former defender, who represented the Basque club in over 500 matches over 12 years.
