Officially: Manchester City Signs Antoine Semenyo for €75 Million
Manchester City has officially announced the signing of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in a deal worth £65 million (approximately €75 million). The player has penned a five-and-a-half-year contract with the club.
This transfer follows an impressive run of form for the 26-year-old, who has scored 10 goals in 20 Premier League appearances this season.
Semenyo had attracted interest from other major clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham. His final appearance for Bournemouth saw him score a superb stoppage-time winner against Tottenham on Wednesday, securing a 3-2 victory.
Expressing his ambition with his new club, Semenyo stated, "I want to rewrite history again" at City, aiming to be part of the team's rebuilding efforts.
Manager Pep Guardiola confirmed that Semenyo would be part of the squad for Saturday's FA Cup clash against Exeter, praising his qualities: "Everyone knows the qualities he possesses – he has been playing exceptionally well at Bournemouth in the last few years and can play on both sides."
Manchester City, currently six points behind Arsenal at the top of the Premier League, is looking to bolster its challenge on four fronts this season, and Semenyo is expected to add significant attacking power to the squad.
