Officially: Bournemouth Signs Jimenez Permanently, Real Madrid Receives €13 Million
English club AFC Bournemouth officially announced today, Thursday, the activation of the permanent purchase option for young Spanish defender Alex Jimenez (20 years old). Jimenez, who was on loan from Italian club AC Milan, has signed a contract extending until the summer of 2031.
Bournemouth will pay a fixed fee of €20 million, in addition to €5 million in agreed-upon variables with Milan, contingent on specific performance and appearance clauses.
Despite Real Madrid no longer holding a buy-back clause or a priority option, the Spanish giants will receive approximately 50% of Jimenez's sale value. This is because the Royal Club retained a clause entitling them to half of the proceeds from the sale of a player who graduated from their academy when he was sold to Milan in 2024 for €5 million.
According to Spanish media reports, the total amount Real Madrid will receive from this deal is approximately €13 million.
