Juventus Delays Vlahovic Contract Renewal Until Season's End
Juventus CEO Damien Comolli has stated that a decision on Dusan Vlahovic's contract renewal will not be made before the end of the current season. He noted that the club has no immediate plans to finalize the matter, with his comments aiming to quell ongoing speculation about the Serbian striker's future as the management prioritizes other contractual issues ahead of the domestic season's final stages.
Comolli disclosed that Sporting Director Marco Ottolini has already held preliminary discussions with Vlahovic, whose current deal expires at the end of June. "I know our sporting director Marco Ottolini has had some discussions with Dusan, but you shouldn't expect anything before the end of the season," the CEO stated. This strategy aims to finalize outstanding contract renewals for several players, ensuring squad stability as the league season concludes.
As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the squad, Juventus previously finalized contract extensions for Kenan Yildiz and Weston McKennie. This move coincided with the renewal of coach Luciano Spalletti's contract until 2028. Comolli also shared his outlook for the upcoming period, stating, "We hope to have interesting news regarding contracts in general before the end of the championship," emphasizing that the current strategy involves a patient approach to crucial decisions.
The CEO made these remarks while attending a training session for Juventus' special needs team in Pinerolo. The club is currently enjoying relative stability, sitting fourth in the Serie A table. Both technical and financial management are focused on resolving all contractual issues to ensure full concentration on future sporting objectives, all while maintaining financial balance within the club's contract structure.
