Juventus Extends Luciano Spalletti's Contract Until 2028 with Salary Exceeding €5 Million
Juventus Football Club has officially announced the extension of head coach Luciano Spalletti's contract, keeping him at the helm until 2028. This formalizes an agreement that had been widely anticipated in sports circles.
Under the terms of the new deal, the coach's annual salary will rise to over €5 million, with additional incentives potentially increasing the total value to €6 million per year. This move underscores the significant confidence the club's management places in his current technical project to compete for titles.
This decision comes after Spalletti, who joined the club on October 30, successfully achieved tangible results, securing 42 points from 22 Serie A matches.
In this regard, Juventus owner John Elkann lauded the coach's positive impact, stating: "He has brought new energy to the dressing room and restored the hunger and determination to win." Elkann's remarks highlight the transformations the team has undergone since the Tuscan coach's arrival, which has helped establish a clear playing identity and significantly improved collective performance.
The contract extension positions Luciano Spalletti as the joint second-highest-paid coach in Serie A, alongside Massimiliano Allegri and Gian Piero Gasperini, trailing only Antonio Conte, who earns €8 million. This financial leap is notable compared to his previous salary of just €3 million. Through this technical stability, the club's management aims to build a team capable of seriously challenging for the Serie A title, which has eluded the club for six years, banking on the successes the coach has achieved since taking charge and guiding the team to fourth place in the league standings.
