Juventus Offers Vlahovic Contract Extension with Reduced Salary
Italian club Juventus continues its efforts to renew the contract of its Serbian striker, Dusan Vlahovic, by presenting an offer that includes an extension until 2027 or 2028. This move comes as the club aims to reduce its current financial costs. The club's management is proposing an annual salary ranging between 6 and 7 million euros, including bonuses, which represents a significant decrease from his current salary of 12 million euros per season. Negotiations between both parties are ongoing to reach a consensual agreement.
These developments occur as the Serbian forward sustained a minor calf muscle injury, expected to keep him off the pitch for at least three weeks. This injury has reportedly strengthened the Italian club's position in the ongoing negotiations. While Vlahovic seeks more favorable financial terms than the current offer, commissions and a signing bonus remain pivotal points where a final agreement has yet to be reached, as the club monitors the player's readiness to return to action.
Juventus Sporting Director Marco Ottolini confirmed that discussions will continue in the upcoming period. Ottolini stated, “We started talking with Dusan again after his return from Belgrade, and both parties showed their willingness to sit down and understand the situation. These talks will continue in the coming weeks.” These negotiations coincide with the club monitoring alternative options in the attacking line, such as Robert Lewandowski and Randal Kolo Muani, amidst reports of inquiries from Barcelona and Milan regarding the Serbian striker's situation.
