Juventus Set to Secure Coach Spalletti with New Contract, Salary Increase to €6 Million
Negotiations for Luciano Spalletti's contract renewal with Italian club Juventus are reportedly nearing completion, with an official agreement expected soon to extend his tenure as head coach until 2028.
The new deal is anticipated to be finalized next week, adding two years to his current contract. Spalletti initially joined Juventus on October 30th last year for an eight-month period, succeeding Igor Tudor.
This move follows public backing from John Elkann, chairman of Exor, the holding company that owns the club. Elkann has lauded the significant transformation the coach has brought since his arrival last October.
Praising the team's performance, John Elkann stated: "On a sporting level, the team began to show progress after Luciano Spalletti's appointment in October. He brought new energy to the dressing room and re-established the hunger and determination to achieve victories." This sentiment reinforces the club's commitment to technical stability for the foreseeable future.
The anticipated agreement includes a salary increase for Spalletti, bringing his annual earnings to approximately €6 million. This raise is directly tied to the club's success in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League, ensuring the necessary financial returns.
In his efforts to bolster the squad, the coach has expressed interest in acquiring new players like Alisson Becker and Bernardo Silva. He has also urged the management to prioritize renewing striker Dusan Vlahovic's contract to retain a core pillar of the club's sporting project.
