Juventus Nears Spalletti Contract Extension Until 2028 with Salary Exceeding €5 Million Annually
Italian club Juventus is reportedly close to officially announcing the contract renewal of their coach, Luciano Spalletti. The official statement is expected within the next 24 hours, extending the agreement between both parties until June 2028. Reflecting the management's desire to solidify the stability of their sporting project, the extension was finalized independently of the team's success in securing a UEFA Champions League qualification spot, underscoring the club's confidence in the coach's technical approach.
The new financial terms include a significant improvement in Spalletti's remuneration. His annual salary will rise to over five million euros, with clauses allowing the total amount to reach six million euros through additional performance-related bonuses. This agreement replaces his previous contract, which was set to expire next June. Notably, the coach had signed an initial eight-month deal on October 30th, with an estimated annual salary of around three million euros.
Reports close to the club indicate that John Elkann, CEO of Exor, Juventus's parent company, had instructed that Spalletti be granted full technical authority and a secure position within the club's future project approximately two months ago. Although renewal efforts began in earnest at the start of the current year, the management opted to finalize the matter early to ensure technical stability before entering the summer transfer market, whose budget will be influenced by the team's ability to return to major European competitions.
