He confirmed that the deal was in its final stages, with only the official signing remaining before it unexpectedly halted. In a media interview, Paratici explained that he received notification that the transfer would not proceed after reaching a very advanced stage.

Paratici spoke about those decisive moments, indicating that everything was prepared to finalize the agreement with the Lombardy club before the move was called off at the last minute. Fabio Paratici stated: "With Milan, everything was already done, only the signature was missing, and then I was told that it would not happen." The sporting official also made sure to deny any role played by Giuseppe Marotta in the collapse of this agreement, emphasizing that there was no interference from his side in the decision to halt the completion of the contract.

The Fiorentina sporting director also touched upon other topics related to his career and current aspirations. He praised Nicolò Fagioli's potential, describing him as a midfielder of Spanish club Barcelona's caliber, while also discussing the possibilities of retaining Moise Kean within his current squad. Paratici recalled his previous tenure with Italian club Juventus, considering that the club was about 20 years ahead of everyone else, despite mentioning the capital gains issues the club faced.
