Richardson: "I've Had Difficult Times Off the Pitch and Prefer to Leave Fiorentina This Winter"

Moroccan international Amir Richardson has opened up about his recent experience with current club Fiorentina and his future aspirations.

Speaking to French newspaper L'Equipe, Richardson stated: "Honestly, I've had difficult times off the pitch (I lost my father), but football-wise, I've been fine in recent months."

He added: "I admit I didn't quite understand my situation. The former coach (Stefano Pioli, who was dismissed at the beginning of November) told me he was counting on me, and the club didn't want to let me leave, except at the end of August, as if I was no longer the same player in their eyes. So, honestly, I prefer to leave this winter."

Richardson continued, speaking about French club Nice: "It's my heart's team. I grew up in Nice, and my mother still lives there. I know the club is going through a difficult period, but in reality, it's a very good team in Ligue 1. Everyone goes through difficult periods. Nice, clearly, is my priority."
