The Mexican city of Monterrey will host a crucial playoff match for the 2026 World Cup, where the Iraqi and Bolivian national teams will compete for a spot in the global football spectacle.
The match between Iraq and Bolivia is scheduled for 9:00 PM local Mexico time tomorrow, Tuesday, which corresponds to 4:00 AM on Wednesday, GMT+1.
The Iraqi national team earned its place in the intercontinental playoff after a challenging journey through the Asian qualifiers, where they finished third in Group B, thereby advancing to the Asian playoff.
In that stage, Iraq secured second place in Group B behind Saudi Arabia, which qualified directly for the World Cup. Iraq then faced the UAE national team, securing their qualification for the intercontinental playoff.
The "Lions of Mesopotamia" are aiming to reach the World Cup for the second time in their history, following their previous participation in the 1986 edition, also held in Mexico.
