Al-Salami in Tears: 'This Qualification Lacks Joy After Al-Naimat's Injury'
Jordan national team coach Jamal Al-Salami confirmed that the injury to his player Yazan Al-Naimat created difficulties for the team during their match against Iraq, which deeply affected him and brought him to tears.
Al-Salami led the Jordanian national team to the semi-finals of the Arab Cup after a one-nil victory over Iraq in their quarter-final match on Friday.
Speaking to the press while visibly emotional, Al-Salami stated: "These tears are not tears of joy, because this victory and qualification feel hollow. After Yazan Al-Naimat left the field due to injury, it caused us great dismay. God willing, our next match awaits."
The Jordanian national team is scheduled to face Saudi Arabia next Monday in the semi-finals of the Arab Cup, at Al Bayt Stadium.
