Al-Salami Names 5 Favorites for Arab Cup "Qatar 2025," Including Morocco

Jamal Al-Salami has tipped five national teams to lift the 2025 Arab Cup title: Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Algeria. He affirmed that these teams are the closest contenders for the championship among the 16 participating nations.

During the press conference that followed Jordan's victory over the UAE in the first round, Al-Salami stressed that his team deserved the three points from their match, highlighting that the players showed a strong reaction after the equalizer scored by "Al-Abyad," before regaining the lead and securing the win.

The Moroccan coach stated: "The first match in any tournament is always important and difficult for players and coaches. The Arab Cup is an opportunity for a group of players to prove their abilities and present themselves as required."

Al-Salami added that while the opening win is very important, it does not yet guarantee qualification, considering the strength of the Kuwaiti and Egyptian teams. He also confirmed that his team is competing in the absence of six key players. He further believed that the UAE national team would play its remaining two matches "with all its cards."

Regarding the identity of the title contenders, Al-Salami emphasized that "the Moroccan national team is one of the most prominent competitors this year, alongside Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Algeria," a clear indication of the confidence he places in the capabilities of the "Atlas Lions" in the current edition of the tournament.
