Al-Salami: "2026 World Cup Draw Was Good Because We Avoided Morocco"
Jordan national team coach Jamal Al-Salami expressed his satisfaction at avoiding a group that includes the Moroccan national team in the 2026 World Cup.
Al-Salami stated in a press release: "The draw was good, given that there are tougher groups than ours, and because we avoided being drawn with the Moroccan national team."
He added: "The draw placed us with Argentina, the world champions, and we are happy with this encounter because it will be a historic match. Then there's Algeria, an Arab country, and Austria, a footballing nation of good standing."
He concluded: "This is an important opportunity for us to showcase Jordanian football to the world and to open new horizons for Jordanian stars to move to better leagues in the future."
