Manchester City Players Refund Fan Tickets After Shock Defeat
Manchester City players have announced they will reimburse the cost of tickets for fans who traveled to Norway to attend the team's UEFA Champions League match against Bodø/Glimt, which ended in a 3-1 defeat for City.
This decision follows the team's disappointing performance in the match, held in Bodø, a city north of the Arctic Circle. Despite the players facing harsh weather conditions and exceptional circumstances, these did not deter fans from traveling long distances to support their team from the stands amidst bitter cold.
Several team leaders, including Bernardo Silva, Rúben Dias, Rodri, and Erling Haaland, were keen to take this initiative as a gesture of appreciation for the supporters' sacrifices and loyalty. The match ticket price was £25 (approximately 308 Moroccan Dirhams).
Approximately 374 fans who traveled to Norway for the game will benefit from this decision, with the players covering the full cost of their tickets. This gesture has received widespread praise from the club's fanbase and observers, being seen as an example of the strong bond between the team and its supporters, even in the most challenging moments.
This move comes as Manchester City aims to correct its course following a recent string of poor results. In their last five matches across the English Premier League and Champions League, they have suffered two defeats and recorded three draws.
