Manchester City Nearing Deal for Crystal Palace Defender Marc Guéhi
Manchester City is reportedly close to signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi, 25. This move comes as City looks to address a shortage in their defensive line, following injuries to key players such as Rúben Dias, Joško Gvardiol, and John Stones.
Guéhi's contract with Crystal Palace is set to expire at the end of the current season, and the player has reportedly expressed his unwillingness to renew it. Manchester City has reached a "near-complete agreement on all personal terms" with the defender. The transfer fee is expected to be around €35 million (£35 million), a sum considered sufficient to secure his move during the current January transfer window.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed this development, stating: "Exclusive: Manchester City advancing on Marc Guéhi deal after big bid presented in the last 12 hours. Man City presented an important proposal to Guéhi in terms of contract, and they are finally prepared to move also with Crystal Palace. Deal now closer with Man City." Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also shown interest in the England international.
This transfer market activity follows Manchester City's earlier January signing of Antoine Semenyo for €72 million, who has contributed two goals and an assist in cup matches.
