Manchester City Defeat Brentford (2-0) to Reach League Cup Semi-Finals

Manchester City have advanced to the semi-finals of the English League Cup, known as the Carabao Cup, after securing a two-nil victory over Brentford in their quarter-final match at the Etihad Stadium.

Rayan Cherki opened the scoring for City in the 32nd minute, marking his fourth goal of the season. Savinho then doubled Manchester City's lead in the 67th minute with a shot that deflected off a defender and found its way into the net.

The match also saw young player Oscar Bobb substituted in the 19th minute due to injury. Manager Pep Guardiola commented on Bobb's injury, stating: "He left after 10 or 15 minutes. He complained about the muscular area, a muscular injury, in the hamstring. So hopefully it's not serious and he can come back soon."

Guardiola also praised Cherki, saying: "Rayan is an exceptional player, he is very young, and he has a great personality."
