South Africa Coach Broos Criticizes Players: "We Score and Then We Sleep!"

Hugo Broos, the head coach of the South African national team, once again criticized his players following their 3-2 victory over Zimbabwe in the third and final matchday of the Africa Cup of Nations group stage.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Broos said: "We started the game well, and we played good football until we scored the first goal. Then, once again, we made mistakes similar to those we made in previous matches, with misplaced passes and players not positioning themselves correctly."

He added: "We gave the opponent an opportunity to become dangerous. For their equalizing goal, three or four of our players were in front of their player, and they didn't intervene at all. When you defend in this manner, you will concede a goal in every match."

Broos concluded by saying: "We must work on correcting these mistakes. We start the game well, and as soon as we score, we fall asleep, exactly as happened against Angola. If this happens against a good team, you cannot come back, and you will certainly lose the match."
