
Egypt First to Qualify for AFCON Round of 16 After "Difficult" Win Over South Africa (1-0)
The Egyptian national team has qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 after defeating their South African counterparts 1-0 in a match played on Friday, as part of the second round of the group stage.
The Egyptian squad scored the sole goal of the match in the 45th minute from a penalty successfully converted by Mohamed Salah. The encounter took place at the Grand Agadir Stadium. Two minutes later, the referee showed a red card to "Pharaohs" defender Mohamed Hany for a strong tackle on a South African player.
