South Africa Qualifies for AFCON Round of 16 After 3-2 Victory Over Zimbabwe

South Africa's national team has secured its place in the Round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Zimbabwe 3-2. The match, held at the Grand Stadium of Marrakech, was part of the third matchday of the tournament's group stage.

South Africa opened the scoring early through Tshepang Moremi in the seventh minute. However, Zimbabwe quickly found an equalizer, with Tawanda Maswanhise leveling the score in the 19th minute.

Lyle Foster restored South Africa's lead in the 50th minute, shortly after the start of the second half. Zimbabwe, however, fought back again, drawing level in the 73rd minute following an unfortunate own goal scored by Aubrey Modiba.

In the 82nd minute, South Africa netted the winning goal, officially sealing their qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16.

It is worth noting that Egypt currently leads Group B with 7 points, ahead of South Africa, who also have 7 points. Angola sits in third place with two points, while Zimbabwe is at the bottom of the standings with a single point.
