Motsepe 'Proud' of Morocco's World-Class Infrastructure, Confident in AFCON Referees

Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), praised Morocco's infrastructure, affirming that it rivals global standards. Speaking at a press conference held today in Rabat, Motsepe stated: "I am proud of the world-class stadiums and infrastructure in Morocco, just as I was proud of what Côte d'Ivoire has done. There are people here from Tanzania and Kenya to learn and observe the infrastructure, which is an inspiration for the 2027 edition."

Responding to a question regarding the referees who will officiate the Africa Cup of Nations matches, the CAF President explained that he would meet with all the officials, saying: "I will meet with all the referees tonight, and I will tell them, as I always do, that I am proud of them; they represent the best in the world."

Motsepe emphasized the importance of integrity and fair officiating, adding: "Independence, integrity, and credibility are very important, and what we like is that VAR will be used in every match. I would also like to thank FIFA because some of our referees from the continent have participated in some of the biggest tournaments in the world. I am confident that the referees will be world-class."
