Hakimi Affirms National Team Commitment: 'I Didn't Want to Miss AFCON, Decision is With the Coach'

Achraf Hakimi, captain of the Moroccan national team, affirmed his determination and insistence on supporting the national squad with all his might, highlighting his readiness to give his best despite a recent injury.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the match against Comoros, Hakimi stated that his role would not change whether he played on the field or not. He emphasized that he has much to offer as team captain, even if he cannot participate tomorrow.

Hakimi added that he would leave the decision regarding his participation to coach Walid Regragui. He explained that he felt sad when he sustained the injury because he did not want to miss the opportunity to play in the Africa Cup of Nations, a sentiment he conveyed directly to the coach.
