Regragui Calls for Strong, Continuous Fan Support in AFCON Opener Against Comoros

Walid Regragui, head coach of the Moroccan national team, emphasized the crucial role fans play in supporting the "Atlas Lions," calling for strong and continuous encouragement during their Africa Cup of Nations group stage opener against Comoros.

Regragui recalled his previous experience with Wydad AC, stating that the intensity of fan cheering often made it impossible for players to hear his instructions on the pitch, with communication only possible during halftime in the locker rooms.

During the pre-match press conference, the national coach expressed his hope for a strong fan turnout in the upcoming match, urging continuous support without distractions like taking photos or videos, to ensure the encouragement acts as a significant pressure factor on the opponent.

The national team coach added that in recent matches, his instructions have been heard by players normally on the field, and he expressed his desire for fan support to be an additional element of encouragement at this stage.

The national team is set to kick off its AFCON campaign tomorrow, Sunday, against Comoros at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with the match scheduled for 8:00 PM (GMT+1).
