Motsepe: Africa Cup of Nations Winner's Prize Increased to $10 Million
Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe has confirmed an increase in the prize money for the winner of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) "Morocco 2025" from $7 million to $10 million.
Speaking at a press conference held today, Saturday, in Rabat, Motsepe stated: "The country that wins the title in Morocco will receive $10 million, and this is an important goal."
He added: "The world is increasing the value of the prizes it offers, and we have also made decisions to increase the prize money for the Champions League and Confederation Cup competitions. We will announce their values after January 18, 2026."
Motsepe also announced a grant of $1 million to each African football association, as part of CAF's plan to develop football across all continental nations.
