Moroccan referee Bouchra Karboubi has sent a letter to Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), officially announcing her retirement from refereeing.

In her letter, Karboubi stated: "His Majesty the King, may God protect him, with the profound wisdom and keen insight bestowed upon him by God, has consistently cared for and called for the care of athletes, especially female athletes, which you are diligently implementing and activating through your great efforts."

She continued: "I have represented my country in the best possible way in various international forums whenever invited, proud of the presence of the noble Kingdom's name in various continental and international events. I achieved this honor thanks to your efforts in serving the nation, and your support from the beginning of my journey has been the best guide for my career."

Karboubi explained: "However, Mr. President, with deep regret, I find myself today surrounded by practices from the director of the National Technical Directorate of Refereeing and its members, which have disrupted my career, overshadowed past and anticipated achievements, and even undermined the entire project. This has compelled me today to make the decision to retire from a field where I have spent 25 years of my life."

She added: "I extend my sincerest thanks to you, Mr. President, for your belief in me and for the support and assistance you have provided to my humble self, enabling me to reach where I am today."

Karboubi concluded her letter, expressing regret, by addressing those who stood in her way: "To those who have deliberately harmed us, do not rest assured, for you are present in every prostration and every prayer. God will judge between us, and He is the best of judges. God is sufficient for me, and He is the best disposer of affairs."
