Aliou Cissé to Al-Botola: "Morocco is a Favorite to Win AFCON, and Some Teams Might Surprise Us"

The coach of the Libyan national team, Aliou Cissé, affirmed that several national teams are capable of winning the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in the Kingdom of Morocco between December 21, 2025, and January 18, 2026.

Cissé told Al-Botola: "There are many teams capable of winning this Africa Cup of Nations. I believe Morocco is a favorite, and Senegal, of course. There are other teams like Algeria, Egypt, and Nigeria."

The Senegalese coach continued, "As you know, in the Africa Cup of Nations, you cannot say exactly who will win it."

Cissé added, "As for the World Cup, one can make predictions, but the Africa Cup of Nations is more complex, and there are teams that might surprise us."

Cissé concluded his statement by saying, "I hope Senegal wins, because I am from Senegal, and my whole heart is with my country's national team."
