Mbappe Seeks Moroccan National Team Doctor After Real Madrid Medical Staff's "Mistake"
The relationship between Kylian Mbappé and Real Madrid's medical staff has significantly deteriorated following an incident involving an MRI scan performed on the wrong knee.
With the pain persisting during the Champions League playoff matches, the French player traveled to Paris on March 2, where he consulted Dr. Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet, who this time accurately diagnosed his condition.
French newspaper L'Equipe reported that Mbappé personally requested Florentino Pérez, Real Madrid's president, that his health not be monitored by the club's doctors, expressing a complete loss of trust in them. Instead, Mbappé asked to be followed by Dr. Christophe Baudot, the doctor who had previously established a special treatment protocol for his knee.
Mbappé has known Dr. Baudot for a long time from their shared tenure at Paris Saint-Germain, before Baudot left the club in 2023 to become the doctor for the Moroccan national team. Baudot had previously overseen Achraf Hakimi's recovery after an ankle injury sustained during a match against Bayern Munich.
