Mbappe: 'How Will I Prepare for the World Cup? By Playing Every Match with Real Madrid and Winning Titles'
French star Kylian Mbappe has broken his silence to address the controversy surrounding his recent knee injury, confirming his full recovery and simultaneously attacking the rumors that spread about his health status.
During a media appearance in France, Mbappe stressed that reports circulated about his injury were 'inaccurate,' stating that much of the information published was 'unfounded.'
The Real Madrid forward said: 'My knee is fine. Its condition is improving very well, and I know there's a lot of speculation about it, and some incorrect things have been said. This is the life of professional athletes, and we are used to hearing people say things without verifying them or having any basis in truth.'
He added: 'I have fully recovered. I had the opportunity in Paris to get an accurate diagnosis, and together we were able to put a plan in place to return to my best level with Real Madrid, as well as to participate in the World Cup.'
When asked about how he deals with the pressure of matches as the World Cup approaches, he replied: 'I've seen people talk about the World Cup. I've played in two editions of the World Cup. I won one and reached the final in the other. How did I prepare for the World Cup? By playing in every match with my team.'
He pointed out: 'For me, it's absolutely clear that I want to play every game with Real Madrid. I won't change my preparation method. I could have said: "I'll go home and not play," but that's illogical. I prepared for the last two World Cups in the best possible way, which is by playing, scoring goals, winning titles, and fighting until the last moment for my team, and this year I will do the same to reach my best level.'
It is worth noting that Mbappe missed five matches with Real Madrid before returning in the last two games, playing 21 minutes against Manchester City and 26 minutes against Atlético Madrid. He is currently with the French national team camp, set to play two friendly matches against Brazil this coming Thursday, followed by Colombia next Sunday.
