Thomas Partey to Face Two New Rape Charges, Court Appearance Set for March 13
British authorities have brought new sexual assault charges against Villarreal midfielder Thomas Partey, including two additional counts of rape. The Ghanaian international was already facing six previous charges related to rape and sexual assault.
The new charges, disclosed by the British Crown Prosecution Service, stem from an independent complaint regarding non-recent offenses allegedly committed in 2020, involving a different woman. These developments follow a new investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
Partey previously appeared before Westminster Magistrates' Court in early August 2025, where he denied all charges and was released on conditional bail. He is now scheduled to appear before the same court again on March 13, 2026, regarding these latest accusations.
On that occasion, the Ghanaian player asserted his innocence concerning alleged offenses that took place between 2021 and 2022, involving three different women. He denied raping two of them and sexually assaulting the third. The trial for the initial five rape charges and one sexual assault charge is set to commence on November 2, 2026.
The bail conditions imposed on Thomas Partey last summer prohibit him from contacting any of the three alleged victims and require him to inform the police of any permanent change in his residence or any international travel. The 32-year-old player's contract with Villarreal is set to expire on June 30.
