
Exclusive: Albotola Publishes CAF Meeting Agenda, AFCON Final Sanctions on the Table
The Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will hold a meeting tomorrow morning, Friday, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The meeting is set to discuss several important and challenging topics on its agenda, most notably:
1. Discussion of the evaluation report for the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025", to be presented to the Executive Committee concerning the events that transpired during the final between Morocco and Senegal.
2. Discussion of the CAF Disciplinary Committee's decision regarding the sanctions issued concerning the Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal.
3. Discussion of the report from the Chairman of the CAF Referees Committee concerning the performance of referees and Video Assistant Referee (VAR) operators during the Africa Cup of Nations matches, and specifically during the final match between Morocco and Senegal.
4. Reviewing proposals submitted by the CAF General Secretariat concerning the status of several upcoming competitions: the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled from March 17, 2026, to April 3, 2026; the Africa Futsal Cup of Nations, set to be held in Morocco from April 6 to April 15; and the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled from April 25 to May 15. The committee will also confirm and approve the dates for the CAF Confederation Cup final, with the first leg on May 9, 2026, and the second leg on May 16, 2026, as well as the CAF Champions League final, with the first leg on May 15, 2026, and the second leg on May 24, 2026. Furthermore, the venue and date for the next edition of the CAF Super Cup will be discussed.
5. The CAF Secretary-General will present to the members the regulatory framework of the Confederation of African Football, including the CAF Code of Conduct and Ethics, and the CAF Governance Code.
6. Discussing the dates and conditions for hosting the Africa Cup of Nations in 2027 and 2028, as well as the African Nations League in 2029, 2030 (within the framework of ongoing discussions with relevant African and international bodies), 2031, the Africa Cup of Nations in 2032, the African Nations League in 2033, 2034 (within the framework of ongoing discussions with relevant African and international bodies), 2035, the Africa Cup of Nations in 2036, and the African Nations League in 2037.
7. Discussing an increase in the daily allowances for CAF Standing Committees, as well as for referees, VAR operators, match commissioners, and CAF officials.
8. The CAF Executive Committee will support and lead, in accordance with CAF regulations and statutes and in cooperation with the Referees Committee, specific meetings aimed at implementing changes to the committee, increasing its membership, and inviting technical experts. This is to ensure the respect, integrity, reputation, and global competitiveness of CAF competitions, as well as the performance of referees and VAR operators.
9. Approving a decision at tomorrow's meeting in Tanzania on February 13, 2026, which recommends that the 48th Ordinary General Assembly of CAF adopt a resolution allowing for appropriate and deterrent sanctions against any physical or moral misconduct, or any national association, club, official, or player who has seriously violated CAF's statutes, regulations, or code of conduct, or engaged in any behavior that could severely harm the reputation, integrity, respect, and global competitiveness of African football and CAF competitions.
