Real Betis Rules Out Amrabat Permanent Move Due to High Salary
Press reports indicate that Real Betis' management has definitively decided against activating the purchase option for Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat during the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to "Africa Foot," Amrabat's future remains uncertain as his loan spell with the Andalusian club, having joined from Fenerbahçe, nears its end.
The same source clarified that Real Betis' management made a definitive decision not to activate Amrabat's purchase clause, which was included in the loan agreement, despite the technical staff's general satisfaction with his midfield performance.
The source added that this decision is primarily due to financial and structural considerations, including his high annual salary, estimated at around 5 million euros, in addition to the overall cost of the deal and his age.
The Andalusian club, which has adopted a cautious financial management policy for several seasons, believes that an investment of this magnitude could disrupt its financial balance, even though Amrabat's performance in La Liga has been deemed acceptable.
In this context, the option of signing him permanently appeared financially challenging.
For its part, Fenerbahçe, with whom Amrabat has a contract until the summer of 2028, is reportedly ready to consider offers during the upcoming summer transfer window. However, the Turkish club is demanding between 9 and 10 million euros for his services, a figure consistent with the value of an international player possessing significant European experience.
