
Manchester City Set for League Cup Final Clash with Arsenal
Manchester City confirmed their superiority over Newcastle United, securing their place in the English League Cup final after a comprehensive 3-1 victory in the second leg at the Etihad Stadium, progressing 5-1 on aggregate.
City started the match with high pressure, giving Newcastle no room to breathe. Egyptian star Omar Marmoush opened the scoring in the 7th minute, following a precise pass from Phil Foden.
City continued their dominance, with Marmoush adding his second goal in the 29th minute after a brilliant individual effort. Before Newcastle could recover from the shock, Tijjani Reijnders scored the third goal in the 32nd minute, effectively ending the visitors' hopes within just half an hour.
In the second half, the pace of the game slowed somewhat, with Newcastle's coach attempting offensive changes. Anthony Elanga managed to reduce the deficit in the 62nd minute with an individual effort.
Manchester City will now face Arsenal in the League Cup final. The match is scheduled to take place on March 22nd at Wembley Stadium.
