Le Roy: "Morocco National Team Needs a Pure Striker"
French coach Claude Le Roy has once again discussed the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal, highlighting the Atlas Lions' need for a pure striker.
In a statement to Egyptian channel "On Sport," Claude Le Roy said: "I believe the issue of a pure striker for Morocco must be resolved. It's true that El Kaabi is there, but compared to other teams, Morocco doesn't have a striker of the caliber everyone is looking for."
He added: "Despite the great performance of a team like Senegal, which includes young players and rising stars, I believe Morocco is capable of delivering wonderful things in all positions."
Regarding the final match, which Senegal won, he explained: "The substitutions involving Amrabat and El Aynaoui were very important tactically, because El Aynaoui was perhaps, alongside Sadio Mané, one of the best players in the tournament, and he excelled in his role as a new pivot player."
He concluded: "Ultimately, I believe Morocco needs to fully secure the number 9 position. El Kaabi scored some beautiful and spectacular goals, but the team needs more skill and effectiveness in the front line."
