Targhalline Reflects on AFCON: "It Was Not Meant For Us to Finish Well; We Wanted to Win the Cup and Keep It in Morocco"

Moroccan international Oussama Terghaline, a Feyenoord player, gave an interview to the Dutch network nosl.nl, in which he expressed his feelings after Morocco's journey in the Africa Cup of Nations came to an end.

Terghaline stated: “We had a good month, and it was difficult (leaving the Moroccan national team camp) when you stay in one place for a long time. Thankfully, all the players were kind, and the group was good.”

He continued: “We did not finish things well, and it was not meant for us. It was both positive and negative; the positive aspect is that we reached the final, while the negative is that we wanted to win and keep the cup in Morocco.”

It is worth noting that the Moroccan national team reached the final of the Africa Cup of Nations but failed to clinch the title after losing to Senegal by one goal to nil.
