Egyptian FA Requests to Host Africa Cup of Nations 2032 or 2036
The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced in an official statement that it has contacted the Ministry of Youth and Sports to submit a bid to host the Africa Cup of Nations in either 2032 or 2036.
The EFA clarified that its board of directors held a meeting which resulted in several decisions, including not bidding to host the 2028 edition and postponing the idea of organizing the tournament until either the 2032 or 2036 editions.
The upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. Following this, the competition will be held every four years, starting from the 2028 edition.
Egypt has previously hosted the Africa Cup of Nations on five occasions: in 1959, 1974, 1986, 2006, and 2019.
