Three Goals at Camp Nou Return Barcelona to La Liga Summit
Barcelona returned to the top of the Spanish La Liga standings after easily defeating Real Oviedo with a clean three-goal victory (3-0) in their Matchday 21 encounter, held this Sunday evening at the Camp Nou stadium.
The Catalan side had to wait until the second half to break down Oviedo's defenses. Dani Olmo opened the scoring in the 52nd minute, and Raphinha doubled the lead just five minutes later (57'). Lamine Yamal then sealed the goal fest in the 73rd minute.
This victory allowed Barcelona to bounce back from their defeat in the previous round against Real Sociedad (2-1). They increased their points tally to 52, reclaiming the top spot from Real Madrid (51 points), who had temporarily led the standings after their win over Villarreal on Saturday.
This win comes at an ideal time for Barcelona, who are preparing to host Danish side FC Copenhagen in the final group stage match of the UEFA Champions League. The team aims to secure direct qualification to the Round of 16.
Conversely, Real Oviedo's situation at the bottom of the table worsened. Their points total remained at 13, keeping them in last place, as they continue their difficult struggle to avoid relegation to the Segunda División.
