Alonso After Barcelona Defeat: "Spanish Super Cup Is Less Important Than Other Competitions"
Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso emphasized that his team must move past their defeat to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final and focus on upcoming challenges. He noted that the tournament is not among the team's top priorities compared to other major competitions.
Speaking to the media after the match, Alonso stated, "We must turn the page as soon as possible. It's just one match and one competition among several we participate in, but it is the least important. Now we must look forward and try to restore the players' readiness."
The Spanish coach stressed the importance of quickly regaining balance, especially with the congested fixture schedule. He affirmed that the team would work on correcting mistakes and improving performance for the remainder of the season.
