From AFCON's World-Class Organization to Professional League's Disarray: Unspecified Venues and Widespread Postponements

Signs of disorganization in the scheduling and venue selection for the Professional League matches have resurfaced immediately after the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations. This follows the Professional National League's announcement on Tuesday of the fixtures for the ninth and tenth rounds of the championship.

The announced schedule has raised numerous questions, particularly due to the failure to specify the stadium that will host the match between Olympique Dcheira and their guests Difaa El Jadida in the ninth round. The same ambiguity surrounds the match between Hassania Agadir and Ittihad Yacoub El Mansour in the tenth round.

This situation reopens the debate surrounding the method of venue determination, especially given that Hassania Agadir and Olympique Dcheira are still prohibited from hosting matches at the Grand Stade d'Agadir (Adrar Stadium), despite the latter having hosted several matches during the Africa Cup of Nations, before a decision was made to prevent the two teams from playing there after AFCON.

Furthermore, the continued ban on Ittihad Tangier playing at the Grand Stade de Tanger (Tangier Grand Stadium), which hosted Senegal's matches during AFCON, raises more questions. The team is compelled to host its matches at the Tangier Sports Village Stadium, prompting inquiries into the criteria used for such decisions.

Criticism is intensified by the League's decision to postpone several matches to a later date without specifying when they will be played. This reflects clear confusion in scheduling, especially with the football season still long and needing to conclude before next June.

All these factors confirm that the problem of chaotic scheduling and venue determination persists, even after the curtain fell on what was described as the best edition in history of the Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco.
