National Security Directorate: Public Prosecution Notified of Posts on Security Guard's Death, Investigation Launched Against Disseminators
The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), in coordination with the competent judicial authorities, has initiated legal procedures to identify those involved in publishing and promoting false and misleading information on social media regarding an alleged death following sports riots.
A statement from the Directorate indicated that national security services, after monitoring these posts, informed the competent Public Prosecution of their content and requested instructions to open judicial investigations to uncover the individuals or parties behind their publication and dissemination, and to establish legal responsibilities against them.
The same source clarified that these circulating reports, which linked the alleged death to a criminal assault on a person responsible for guarding the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, coinciding with the Africa Cup final, are baseless.
The General Directorate of National Security confirmed that it had not recorded any deaths, neither among private security personnel nor ball collectors, nor any death incident related to the riots, after verifying the data with various health institutions.
This security action follows the widespread circulation of inaccurate information regarding the death of a volunteer due to riots attributed to Senegalese fans during the Africa Cup final between Morocco and Senegal, claims that security services have categorically denied.
