Eto'o: "One of my colleagues suggested I withdraw the team from the field in our match against Morocco, and I don't think I will accuse the Senegal coach"
Samuel Eto'o, President of the Cameroonian Football Federation, confirmed that he also considered withdrawing his players from the match against Morocco in the quarterfinals of the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025".
Eto'o told "France 24": "I do not want to accuse the referees, but there are events that will remain etched in our minds. Now, CAF must take responsibility and investigate the errors that occurred so that it can make the necessary decisions, but do not forget that referees are human like us."
He continued, explaining: "Emotions were running high during the match between Cameroon and Morocco, and one of my colleagues suggested I withdraw the team from the field. I could have made that decision impulsively."
He concluded his statements by saying: "I do not think I will accuse the Senegal coach; on the contrary, he had the courage to defend his team. He took a risk, and such risks must be taken. In the end, Senegal won, and that is what I want to remember."
