
Moroccan Sports Minister Mohamed Brada Receives Call from Egyptian Counterpart Ashraf Sobhy: "Sport is a Bridge for Rapprochement"
The Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports announced in an official statement that Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, held a phone call with Mohamed Saad Brada, Morocco's Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports.
The call aimed to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the two sisterly nations. Both ministers affirmed the deep historical relations between Egypt and Morocco.
They emphasized the importance of sports competitions remaining within a civilized framework based on mutual respect and sportsmanship. They also stressed that "sport represents a bridge for rapprochement between peoples and not a cause for disagreement."
Sobhy commended Morocco's great success in hosting the Africa Cup of Nations. He also underscored the rejection of any manifestations of fanaticism or abuse that could affect the distinguished relations between the two countries or the image of Arab fans.
For his part, Moroccan Minister Mohamed Saad Brada, according to the same statement, highlighted Morocco's appreciation for its strategic relations with Egypt. He affirmed the kingdom's commitment to supporting initiatives that foster Arab brotherhood and spread positive values among youth, emphasizing the pivotal role of sport in enhancing Arab solidarity.
