Gabon Loses 3-2 to Mozambique and Faces Early Africa Cup of Nations Elimination

Mozambique secured an important 3-2 victory over Gabon today, Sunday, in a match held at the Grand Agadir Stadium. This fixture was part of Matchday 2 in Group F of the Africa Cup of Nations "Morocco 2025" qualifiers.

The first half was an exciting affair, with Mozambique taking a two-goal lead through Faizal Bangal in the 37th minute and Geny Catamo from the penalty spot in the 42nd minute. Olympique Marseille star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang then pulled one back for "The Panthers" in the 45+5th minute.

At the start of the second half, Mozambique extended their lead with a third goal from Diogo Calila in the 52nd minute. Gabon managed to score their second goal in the 76th minute, courtesy of Alex Mokitou-Moussounda, but the score remained unchanged for the rest of the match, securing Mozambique's win.

This result elevates Mozambique to three points, placing them third in Group F. Meanwhile, Gabon remains at the bottom of the group with zero points, having suffered two consecutive defeats.
