Mozambique Coach After Morocco Defeat: "Playing Against Africa's Best Was a Real Test Before AFCON, Organization Was Superb"
Mozambique national team coach, Francisco Conde Júnior, praised his players' performance during their friendly match against the Moroccan national team, which ended in a 1-0 victory for the "Atlas Lions." He emphasized that the result of the match was less important than the valuable experience gained from facing one of Africa's top teams.
Speaking to the media after the encounter, Conde Júnior stated: "The result is not important for us; what truly matters is that we played against the best team in Africa. It is very good for us to play a match like this against Morocco."
The Mozambique coach added: "I will work hard to improve my team's performance. The match was very difficult, and Morocco is currently the best team in Africa. Playing against them was a complete real test for us and will greatly benefit our preparations for AFCON."
Conde Júnior confirmed that the Mozambique national team is in a "complex and difficult" group for the Africa Cup of Nations finals, alongside Ivory Coast, Cameroon, and Gabon. He noted that facing a strong team like Morocco helps his players raise their tempo and improve their readiness.
The Mozambique coach concluded by praising the atmosphere and organization surrounding the match: "The organization was superb, and we need such big encounters as part of our preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations finals."
