
Morocco Held to 1-1 Draw by Mali, Misses Early AFCON Knockout Qualification
The Moroccan national team was held to a 1-1 draw by their Malian counterparts in a match played on Friday evening at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. The game was part of the second round of the group stage.
The Moroccan squad started by pressing Mali's defense from the outset. Brahim Diaz earned a penalty kick, which he successfully converted in the 45+4th minute.
After the break, the game returned to parity when Mali was awarded a penalty in the 64th minute, which Lassine Sinayoko successfully converted to level the score.
With this result, Morocco maintained their lead in Group A with four points, while Mali sits in second place with two points.
Walid Regragui's squad will face Zambia next Monday, with the match kicking off at 8:00 PM (GMT+1) at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
